The "Beat" generation emerged just as the harshness of the creatively rudimentary attitudes common in the 1950s began to solidify in the American culture. They began as a small but precise group of basic literary geniuses, who at that time sought at the very least to change the world entire. Unapologetically, they sought primarily to break apathetic attitudes to shreds, to fill all emotional voids with emotional, worldly, and literary wonder.
