4) How does the Normandy Beach scene capture the experience of combat in the film "Saving Private Ryan"? The film was shot rapidly, without the aide of a steadier for the already hand-held cameras. It was shot in such a way so as to capture the absolute rapidness of war, the spontaneity of it all. Traditional panoramic views would have extracted the general relatability of it. With such shots and such methods, you can place yourself in those scenes. The movie becomes as real as film will allow it to be, and thus becomes more emotionally affective and capturing.
